Who we are
FluxMetrix engineers have decades of experience, innovating in diverse technologies. This allows us to draw from a broad array of disciplines, to arrive at novel solutions.

Alan Clarke
Chief Technical Officer
Alan is a seasoned professional electronics design engineer. He has worked at the cutting edge of several fields over a fruitful career. Industrial projects include mains borne signalling, radio teleswitch, high power microwave amplifiers for commercial and military satellite communications, digital telecoms, variable speed motor drives. He became responsible for the EMC aspects and compliance of projects, becoming Siemens UK Tempest Officer for military products, then the executive engineer responsible for the EMC design and certification of Siemens UK motor drive products, manufactured by the millions.
From 2008, he worked as a freelance design consultant. Working for nanoTherics, he brought products in the field of gene transfection and nanoparticle hyperthermia research, from concept to CE certification and commercial release. From 2013 he was a director and Chief Technical Officer for NanoScience Laboratories Ltd, designing advanced laboratory equipment for nanoparticle hyperthermia research. He also designed RF magnetic field probes, to allow accurate field measurements and test-volume mapping , bringing standardisation and reproducibility to academic research worldwide.
As current director and Chief Technical Officer of the new company FluxMetrix Ltd, it has become his ambition to advance the field of magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia, a promising new and less invasive cancer treatment.
He takes pride in having produced novel solutions to many technical problems deemed exceptionally difficult.

Peter Lonsdale
Development Director
Peter is passionate about electronic innovation, design and analysis of electronic systems. New challenges in unknown areas are particularly exciting, especially where the design disciplines overlap.
He obtained a Masters degree in electronic and electrical engineering from UMIST Manchester.
He worked at Siemens UK on control and power electronics for motor drive equipment, becoming responsible for EMC. He designed the power hardware for decentralised power converters. He was delegated to Nanjing China where he trained and mentored the local team of hardware engineers. He moved to a sales support role helping customers with applications which are beyond the published specification of the converters, creating simulation and analysis tools for this purpose, this has grown the business.
He is excited about FluxMetrix and the possibility of making cancer therapy simple and accessible.

Martin Brown
Company Secretary
Martin is a retired engineer and technical trainer. After studying at University he carried out reseach and development in early power electronic applications before joining Siemens UK. Here he worked on a variety of projects including microwave transmitters and uninterruptable power supplies, before working on a range of variable speed drives for motor control. After working on both the control and power electronics he managed a customer support group before taking charge of technical training. Both these roles involved meeting and assisting customers around the world. This work expanded to include business improvement activity and facilitating organisational change. After retirement and publishing a book, he worked for several companies as a part time technical trainer, both with industrial automation as well as delivering energy saving and efficiency programmes.

Nigel Scott
Marketing Director
From starting his working life as a Royal Naval submariner in the polaris programme, Nigel went on to work for Siemens and LEM SA, first as an engineer, then graduating to management. He has over 43 years of experience in the battery industry and holds a number of patents in battery analytical systems, including the first complex impedance standby battery analyser in 1997, which was awarded UK government 'millennium product' status. His experience includes successful patent projects working with several different universities, and holding directorships in three companies. Industry recognition of his work includes three international industry awards for innovation and applied technology and five awards for the advancement of technology.
